No matter what terminal you may be flying out of at JFK Airport in Queens, New York, rest assured there are some fantastic food choices awaiting you should you have a longer wait than normal. Here is a quick and easy guide to give you some of the best restaurants available throughout each terminal.
Terminal 1
There are a few restaurant pickings in this location, but you do have a choice of the Martini Bar for drinks and a burger, JikJi’s, which serves Japanese and Korean counter menu items, and Soho Bites offering chicken wings with beer.
Terminal 2
Surprisingly, Due Amici not only features Italian cuisine, but you can also have an American brunch at this quaint little spot. If sushi is your thing, check out Shiso, with one of the founders being Morimoto Chef Robby Cook. Just looking for a bite of pizza? Tagliare can make that happen.
Terminal 4
If you’re on the hunt for a hearty steakhouse meal, wander over to The Palm Bar & Grille for a drink and their famous Manhatten steak. For tastes that head south of the border, you may want to make Mi Casa Cantina and Restaurant your first destination. La Brea Bakery offers an “on the go” quick bite of goodies and sandwiches, as well.
Terminal 5
Be prepared to stand in line for a seat at the Deep Blue Sushi as this is one of the more popular eating spots in JFK. As a preview to Paris, La Vie, on the other hand, gives you the feel of a sidewalk bistro offering a cup of coffee to a full-size meal. Lastly, Boars Head Deli will make your sandwich any way you like it.
Terminal 7
From a wine and cheese aperitif to a full meal menu, Le Grand Comptoir offers the traveler an excellent choice of menu delights. Wolfgang Puck Express is a go-to food stop for a casual meal while in the airport, and Red Mango is a frozen yogurt shop that has a variety of toppings.
Terminal 8
This area hosts Bobby Van’s Steakhouse that has everything from drinks, to casual dining, to full meals on their menu. Just a note to anyone visiting the Big Apple for the first time, try Brooklyn National Deli if you want an authentic NYC deli experience while in JFK Airport. The pastrami sandwiches and hot dogs are worth it.
