One of the most iconic aspects of NYC cuisine is the prevalence of incredible Italian food. Since immigrants began coming to Ellis Island in the late 19th century, the quality only continued to rise as more and more chefs came to the forefront. Leonti is a great example of this, combining tradition with creative and unique menu items.

For those who are looking for a great place to go that’s in midtown, there’s no better place to go eat before a walk in Central Park than the Momofuku Noodle Bar. This restaurant is owned by David Chang who has an impressive history of making some of NYC’s most delicious ramen.
If you’re looking for a type of cuisine that you might not often find in NYC, check out Henry—it’s an incredible restaurant that specializes in pan-African cuisine, a term used to refer to food that has influences from Africa, the Caribbean, and the American South. Located on the Upper West Side, Eléa is a delicious location sporting some of the best Greek food that you can find in NYC. People who are familiar with NYC’s other restaurants will recognize the similarities from the owner’s other establishment Kyma, but this is not a bad thing—the food is consistently good, there is incredible theming immersing you throughout the entire meal, and you can eat possibly the best pita you’ll find in New York.
